Practical Dressage Manual by Bengt Ljungouist

This book is written from the judges point of view, explaining the proper execution and requirements of dressage movements and pointing out common faults the rider should recognize and overcome. This does not mean that this book is directed only to competitive riders. The motto is: slow and steady. There is no instant dressage. It is patient daily work which pays off in the long run. A rider who does not have this patience and feels inclined to resort to special equipment, will never make a truly schooled horse. There is an old proverb which should be painted in the barn or in the indoor arena as a reminder:  "Where art ends, violence begins". The author is a former coach of the United States Dressage Team including a bronze medal at the Montreal Games in 1976. HB, B&W Photos + Illustrated, 164 pages.
